About the Author Alex P. Keaton was my idol growing up. I've always had that dual nature of being interested in business (numbers, wearing a suit, working in an office) while also being a creative at heart (singing/playing guitar in alt/punk bands, writing, and acting). My academic adviser in college told me to learn a trade after I told her I wanted to be a writer. Being 20 and infatuated with Goethe and the Romantic movement, that wasn't what I wanted to hear. I wanted to be an ARTIST, not work in an office. Fast forward 20 years and the office worker has won out the majority of the time while I've still dabbled as an artist. Having worked for a number of years in corporate recruiting, I've always had side gigs, be it playing in a band, DJing, writing freelance entertainment articles, acting, voiceovers. Now I've put all that energy in chronicling my workout adventures to first inspire, and ultimately surprise, people about what can be accomplished while maintaining a delicious balance with your lifestyle. I'm currently working on several upcoming fitness books while also commanding my day job and Caribbean adventures.

It's such an entertaining and relatable read, even if you aren't into working out, this is definitely an enjoyable book. The author writes w/ such honestly and humor about his journey, you will feel the pain of his workouts and the joy of his pigging out! I thoroughly loved reading this book and living vicariously through all his experiences (minus one hilariously detailed Cubs/Cardinals pre-game story that I wouldn't want to live through). It was such a wonderful book and so much fun to read!

Highly detailed By Sean Sumner This book is a great window to watch exactly how someone else was able to lose weight and get stronger without the traditional Hollywood diet. The author is incredibly detailed in his accounts of what worked for him so that others can benefit from it.If you are looking for general advice then this book may not be for you, but if you want specific numbers and details this book goes into the actual day to day practice. Including all the ups and downs that go with real life, like going out to celebrate with coworkers and having some drinks and eating too much starting a setback.It showed me how much you can do by journaling and keeping track of weight and food.
