I read a lot about the ASVAB but still didn't have much of an idea as to what exactly it tested you on. It's actually rather basic, that is, it covers almost EVERY single subject that would concern a possible recruit(and then some). But most of it seems rather straightforward and obvious, such as putting blocks together in your head, abstract reasoning, arithmetic, word comprehension, almost like a glorified ACT or SAT. Of course as with most testing guides, and tests, they start out with the easy questions and then you have to really put your knowledge to use. Seems rigorous overall, as it should be. But this really shows you what you know and what you need to brush up on, definitely would help to raise your score.Note: I received this product at a discounted price for impartial review.

It helps reinforce what you know on the different areas of the test with its practice questions. As long as you spend a couple hours a day for at least the week before you take the test, you should do fine on it. Now if you bomb the first practice test, you might want to spend more time studying until you know you can do better on it.

After I read it I learned that I didn't need to take the test. So Amazon took it back for me. But this is a must get book. Some of the questions are not as hard as what the real questions are.
