11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Great guide to selling more on amazon By Alain B. Burrese “How To Sell Books By The Truckload On Amazon” by Penny C. Sansevieri is actually two short books by Sansevieri combined into one volume. This book contains “How to Sell Books by the Truckload” and “How to Get More Reviews on Amazon.” Both contain useful information for authors, and even combined the book isn't so big to make it daunting. Keeping the entire manual short and to the point allows it to be very user friendly.What I liked most about this book is that it isn't one of those “work the system” to almost “scamming” type programs you see floating around. Someone wants to show you how to make a lot of money by doing things that aren't quite honest. Sansevieri isn't like that. She shares honest, workable strategies to sell more books and get more reviews, but they do take work.If you are new to amazon, or just want to understand how amazon works a bit better this is a good introductory book. It explains easily what you can do to sell more on this giant website. It then goes into detail on how you can ethically get reviews for your book. This takes some work too, but will be worth it.As an author myself, I plan to use this guide to help me with what I'm doing on amazon. It's a book I'd recommend to anyone wanting to do the same, especially beginners.

Allison Davis I am not a writer so I am writing this from a consumer stand point. As a consumer, two main concepts in the book really stood out to me as they make a huge difference for me in my shopping. I totally agree with the author on the importance of keywords and keyword strings. Anytime I'm searching for a product I use keywords and that applies, as she pointed out, for both google and amazon. Personally, my keyword searches always involve the word "and" as it turns up more options. Which leads me to the second concept...reviews. Once amazon or google has created a list from my keyword search, I always look first at the ones with the best reviews. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I bought a product that didn't have any reviews. The reviews are not always good, which the author also points out, but that doesn't necessarily stop me from buying a product. What is a negative for one person, can be a positive for another. For example, I was recently looking for a media table and I purchased it because the lowest rating review mentioned the color was a bit different than the picture and explained how the color was different. I happened to be looking for that slightly different color than the picture and made the purchase. Reviews are a huge reason I buy almost everything... including books! The remainder of the book would be very useful for authors. She provides specifics on how to get reviews, making sure your book is included in the correct niche on amazon, book rankings and prices, worth while promotions etc. I read the entire book in one sitting, by the pool this afternoon, and was totally engaged. It is written very clearly with short sections, which would make it very easy to take notes. Truly a must read for every author!! I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Alexander I heard about this book after reading a guest blog post by the author on Jane Friedman's excellent blog. I never heard of this author before, but I decided to buy the book. At this price there was nothing to lose! I didn't realize it was two books in one, including the ebook on how to get reviews. I have been publishing ebooks since 2008 and have invested quite a bit in courses learning how best to do this. One of our books is in the coveted under 10,000 sales rank on amazon. Despite my knowledge and experience, I still learned some very useful things! My philosophy is I am looking for at least one gold nugget. Well, I found many more than one. Not everything applied, but plenty did. Excellent advice re goodreads, finding best categories, a fantastic way to get reviews (the thank you letter at the back), leveraging Uk amazon, and much more.
