0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. and gave me a good idea about what to expect when I got there By Karen I used this book as my only guide book when I did a 9 day trip, mainly to Hong Kong (I was also in Shenzhen and Zhuhai). It was a well written book, and gave me a good idea about what to expect when I got there. There were useful tips, and good recommendations about what places to visit. The only problem was that there were no maps, but I'm not sure how to get around that. I would get out of a subway stop, and then have no idea how to get to a certain attraction. Sometimes, I would just randomly ask people until I got there. But I think a paper map wouldn't have worked for me, since Hong Kong is so huge. But anyways, this book was definitely very helpful for my trip. One other problem with the book was that it recommended Hong Kong Hostel, but when I tried booking there, I started reading reviews, and then people were saying that it was illegally operating. So I ended up staying somewhere else instead.
