9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. This workbook is no substitute for a parent or teacher By R. Pollack Slick graphics. Good images. The text, however, is a poor fit for first grade. The fill-in-the-blank questions are fairly low level but the text (what students would have to read in order to learn the answers to the questions) is way beyond first grade level. The informative text on the pages is very small font and too hard to read (syntax, grammar, vocabulary) for most first graders. A parent or teacher would have to read each page aloud. Also, the text does not address all of the content that the pictures do, so some instruction needs to come from a parent or teacher.

Short, fun, exciting lessons keep my first grader engaged, and the star stickers upon completion of each lesson rock. 47 lessons total, a page each. Fast moving and lots of opportunity to "add on" other topics you touch on with the lesson.
