Are you interested in pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree in Public Policy and Administration? How to decide if Public Policy and Administration is right for you? Perhaps you may be interested in reading Jack and Jill’s story below. ***

You will Like this Story

Why Study Public Policy and Administration? Jack was asking himself that question as he prepared another espresso for a customer. He’d been at this job since his second year in college. Even though he’d graduated a year ago, he still hadn’t broken into the retail industry like he’d planned. And last week he’d met Jill at the alumni breakfast on campus. She’d been sure of her major and career all through college. He’d thought Public Policy and Administration was boring, but there she was, all smiles. “What are you up to these days?” he’d asked. “Oh, I’m working on the marijuana legalization project,” she replied. “So you’re still doing Public Policy and Administration?” He tried to keep the cynicism out of his voice. “I guess you could say that. But it’s not like the assignment we did in the Public Policy and Administration class. I’m undertaking a research study as to how legalization of marijuana could influence tax revenue, consumption, and public budgets” she enthused. As she spoke about her work, Jack couldn’t help but notice the sparkle in her eyes. “I’m glad for you,” he genuinely said. “Looks like you chose the right major! But how did you know it would all work out?” “Before college, my parents encouraged me to explore all my options,” Jill replied. “They even got me a book that explained what a career in Public Policy and Administration would be like. It was called Public Policy and Administration for the Curious and had chapters by professors from around the world. They described cutting edge research, but in a way that a high school student could understand.” Back at the coffee shop, Jack was taking a break. He pulled out his Kindle and started to read the next chapter in Public Policy and Administration for the Curious. “I think I’ll go to the university tonight to enroll in Public Policy and Administration for my second major,” he told himself.

Have you Declared YOUR Major?

As you read Jack’s story, he is not alone. In fact, a recent research study shows that 80% of freshmen say they are undecided about their major. Most of them will change their minds multiple times even after they declare their major. Even the “decided” students often do not base their decision of major on factual research and self-reflection. The biggest mistake both the undecided and decided students make is failing to research what’s required of the major, and the profession. To help your research, we approached over 18 top professors to offer their powerful perspectives and advice. We asked them to reveal the truth about college majors, PhD/research, scholarship opportunities, and career options.

Why this Book is Different?

There are many books which claim to help you choose your major. But this book is different. How?
  • First, as opposed to “one size fits all” books, this is the first book ever written solely focusing on Public Policy and Administration.
  • Second, as opposed to perspective from a single author, this book provides you with multiple perspectives from the top professors.
  • Third, as opposed to most other academic/complex books, this book is easy to understand and read.
  • Finally, as opposed to crippling higher prices charged by other publishers, we have made this book available at the price of less than two lattes (or two beers if you prefer).
This book is missing one thing—hype. If you are considering Public Policy and Administration for your major/research, we assure this is the ONLY book you’ll ever need. Take this book as an investment in your life. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Wasn't expecting this to be as helpful as turned out to be- informative and handy guide By Venice Rayne Informative guide to Public policy and Admin for those considering course options. Takes you concisely through all the core course components, in an easy to understand format, and gives you a good idea of the subjects you will be studying and what will be required. It also clearly explained to me the relevancy of both studying in this field and then, of what I could do with my qualification, making my choice of a major a little clearer. This, along with another subject is a field I am seriously considering, and I can recommend this handy guide if you are looking for guidance when choosing your course options or are thinking about a career that will benefit from studying for a Public Policy and Admin qualification. Thumbs up, I definitely recommend this one.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. To the point and real - excellent start point. By Sandy What I like about this book is that it is written by the professors themselves - not a marketing group that never even attended the class much less teach it. Could you find this information on the web? Probably, after how much time searching and weeding out irrelevant material and the marketing information that passes as course brochures. If you are looking at this type of book, then I would guess you don't have the hours and hours to waste on searching out bits and pieces on every possible course of study you might be interested in.This book is an excellent starting point if your are remotely considering a major in Public Policy and Admin, or perhaps think some of the courses might be helpful for another major.
