About the Author Stuart Robson has been deeply involved with Asian studies for over 40 years. He has taught at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands and is a member of the Royal Institute of Linguistics and Anthropology. He is the author of the Javanese-English Dictionary (Periplus Editions, 2002), the only comprehensive English-Javanese dictionary. Now a resident of Australia, he has most recently been the head of the Indonesian Program at Monash University.

Difficult to improve on this excellent book By Kindle Customer I like the difference in how this revised edition is arranged versus other Indonesian phrase books I have used. By focusing on the most often used 100 words and including sample sentences, I think it is the a better way to practice speaking indonesian quickly. Even after thee years of using Indonesian, I still learned some new ways to express myself. The author includes the indonesian alphabet in the beginning. The only improvement I could think of was that for each of the 100 words, pronunciation should be added when the word is introduced rather than only 2 pages at the beginning of the book, which is why I took 1 star off. The additional vocabulary words at the back make this a well-rounded phrase book and the best I have found so far.
