Since I am towards the end of my pregnancy, much of the knowledge were things other parents had told me already. It would be an excellent book, though, if you don't know many people who have recently become parents. I'm a teacher, so the 5 typos bothered me, but I don't think it takes away from the book as a whole. It is obviously written by a man, which is different, considering the genre. He is straight and to the point, and tends not to elaborate with stories the way us ladies like to. That is probably part of what makes it a quick read. Informative and useful read, overall.

Having a kid is one of the best things that happened to me, so I did it three times. :-)This book would have been useful before all three of my kids. Obviously three kids later, I already knew some of the information given in this book. I also learned a few things that would've been big stress relievers for me though that I wish I knew about when my kids were smaller.I'm not having anymore kids (at least that's the plan) anytime soon so I won't be able to use this information personally right now, but I've already shared it with some family members who are having kids.There are so many tips in here I'm not sure how anyone could not save literally hundreds of dollars, hours of time, and loads of stress. After you have kids you may be able to figure out some of this stuff, but it'd probably be better just to have somebody who's already figured it out tell you.Save yourself a lot of time, stress, and money and read this quick book. Babies don't need stressed, time-poor, financially-struggling parents.One last great thing, if there's something you don't understand or need more clarification on, the author gives his contact information in the book. So you can just ask him.

Good Advice By Kindle Customer I have already done a few of the things suggested by the author, and I think the best points are about the crib and bouncy chair. My husband and I live in a two bedroom townhouse and converted the spare room into a nursery since that seems like what most people do. We spent tons of money on a nursery set and spent a lot of time setting it up. After my daughter was born however, we decided that we like her sleeping in our bedroom so she sleeps in a pack and play next to our bed. She only naps in the crib in her room. Part of me wishes that we put a mini nursery in our bedroom and left the spare room alone since we are going to upgrade in a year or so anyway. Also, someone gave us a fancy swing that she only liked for about two weeks. However, she can't get enough of her cheap bouncy chair! I'm just glad we didn't buy the swing new. It's good to know that other people have made the same mistakes!
