By Carley Evans This book is tremendously valuable as a jumping off point for parents as they begin to approach those final years in K-12 education with their kiddos. Guiding families through the looming "what's next?"/launching off phase for their child, Katie taps into her experience and presents this information in an extremely informational and insightful, easy-to-read, straight-to-the-point, at times humorous way that takes the daunting college admissions process that it has become and re frames it in an exciting/positive way as the process should be. As a high school counselor myself, in my opinion this guide is a "high school counselor in a book", for those initial meetings we hold with families and students about this process. It is a resource I believe you should find in every secondary school counselor's bookshelf in their office. A tool for not only parents, but school counselors everywhere. So thankful this needed information has finally been captured and written. A Parent's Guide to the College Admissions Process is a must read introduction book to start the process with your teen- I'm eagerly awaiting sequel series that dive in and cover the topics in a more in depth way for those who wish to dive deeper into the process and for future publications on other much needed parent guides on much needed topics from a school counselor point of view.
