Great book By CoachBe We have a family of 9 and I have always been curious about fermentation so this book was perfect for me. I know fermentation has been around for many years but in my culture you do not hear of people doing this too often so learning from a friend was not an option because no one knew how.This book is perfect for those that are curious on the subject and those that want to dive in and start today. There are so many useful chapters that walk you step by step which is incredible because even the littlest detail may matter.Some of the things I learned while reading this book was that fermentation really extends shell life as the book had mentioned. I would have never known that there are different types of fermentation for I thought it would all be the same. The book goes into great detail about the process, utensils needed, equipment you should use, health benefits, ingredients you can use, and so forth.I was really impressed that this book even went into detail about troubleshooting. Now when you first start cooking or even doing a project for that matter can you imagine the relief it is to have a troubleshooting guide in case something does not go perfect?! Well that is a section I will probably refer to just to ensure things go smoothly.The book also goes into small details like temperature. Reading this book has given me confidence to do some fermentation at home. Without this book I would have been lost. I am solely impressed with the attention to detail and the volume of information that I received just from reading it. Even though I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review, I would recommend this to anyone looking to start this.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Very Interesting. By Maria Ringler In my opinion, with the explicit and clear directions in this book anyone can learn to ferment their own food. Easy to follow step by step directions for every recipe. There are many recipes to try and the one thing I really liked was that you were not told that you had to go out and buy all this fancy equipment to begin fermenting. You can use things you all ready own. I most certainly want to try some of these recipes.

Or some of the average temps need to be high which is impossible to keep like 100 degrees for cheese. I purchased for fermented food recipes and in that aspect it delivered.
