Annoyingly double spaced throughout like a high schooler trying to increase page count on a term paper. The table of contents was not linked for a quick jump to topics a writer might need to reference. A bunch of 5 star reviews from "authors" who for some reason aren't using their name (maybe they just have too much integrity to grab some free publicity riding the coattails of an author they rave about). Nothing revealed in this book that is not available for free on the internet. Overall poor quality writing, more like copy and paste from public domain sources than original content.

Connor takes us on a highly informative journey on how to write a best-selling book. This is a great book for the beginning writers because it teaches you how to identify your individual writing style, how to develop your writing niche, how to do your research --which includes how to document the information that you researched and collected.There are several techniques on researching and documenting techniques especially your sources which adds to your credibility as an author. Another important topic is how to set deadlines when you write because as any writer knows procrastination can be a killer. Connor shows you how to set up a schedule, and some tips and techniques on sticking to it while overcoming common writing blocks that writers face.As you get into the meat of writing your information or bestseller, the author shows you how to create an outline and goes into detail on whether you should type your bestseller or use a transcriber i.e. record your information then use transcribing software to transfer the information to your computer.The other important topics in the book include proofreading and editing your book, marketing, how to get reviews and how to improve your ranking in Amazon. One of the best parts of this book is creating attention grabbing headlines, there are great examples included. This book is a great guide for the newbie writer who is ready to self publish on Amazon or other publishing platforms. If you’re ready to write and publish your bestseller then add this guide to your collection.

Bohne If this book tells you how to write an overnight best seller, it got lost in all of the extraneous information the author includes. Here is how I judge ANY "How to" title: if at the end, the author cannot sum up the book with the phrase, "And THAT is how you [perform task]. After reading this, I could not say this applies. Now, please do not misunderstand: there IS some good information here. But how to write a press release...while in itself being important...doesn't really do a thing to create an overnight best seller. There are also some formatting issues.So if you are an author writing a how to book, ask yourself: Did I write a book where I can end it with "and THAT is how you [perform task]. If not, it needs a rewrite...or a different title. Ordinarily I find most people who give one star ratings unreasonable, however in this instance I can understand why the person who gave this a one star rating did so. A near miss, sorry.

Rabbi Nathan Lopes Cardozo speaks of the implications of resurgent memory in our day. Could this be the fulfillment of prophetic vision? This is a book about memory—Jewish memory. It tells the story of a soul’s descent into hell and, after a long and arduous journey, back into life. But it’s also a book about something else, something that we hesitate to name. Something we fear to call attention to: T’chiat HaMetim, the revival of the dead. The theme of returning from death—death of the will, death of the heart, death of faith—runs all through A Damaged Mirror. But there is a deeper theme buried just beneath the surface, and it is that which makes this book a unique testimony for our times. Isaiah’s words, “the earth will reveal her bloodshed and will no longer cover her slain,” are eerily appropriate to the phenomenon described in this book: a memory from beyond the grave takes form and substance, and stands in accusation against the murderers. In fact, this is not as rare a phenomenon as we might think. Perhaps this is simply the natural response of a people to sudden and traumatic loss of the memory of individuals—the memory must find another route to reach the next generation. Perhaps we are taking note of it now only because the magnitude of the catastrophe makes it impossible to ignore. Perhaps. But perhaps this is something that we haven’t seen before, something different not only in degree but in substance. Whichever is correct, we are led to ask a more pertinent question: could this phenomenon be the fulfillment of the prophetic vision?

Finally, a combined admissions and "best fit" guide that does not patronize By Jon L Albee Here's a college guide that really stands out.There are many college DIRECTORIES out there. Fiske. Yale. Princeton Review. These are all examples of books that give you vast amounts of information about the institutions themselves, but do not necessarily focus on admission or fit.Then there are also a lot of college ADMISSION guides out there too. These books break down the complex admission process for American colleges and universities into instructions that prospective students and parents can understand.Finally, there are many popular "best fit" guides. These are the college directories more generally inspired by Loren Pope's original COLLEGES THAT CHANGE LIVES, and are based on the idea that the best college for you is the one that fit's best, not necessarily the one with the most recognizable brand or the highest ranking.This book is a superb admissions guide combined with a thoughtful "best fit" college directory all rolled up in one book. The introductory sections on how to play the college admissions game are really good. They're built around a thorough and rigorous process for selecting the right colleges and then building an admissions strategy that is honest, efficient and realistic. I love the way the guide begins with a prospective student's interests and talents and builds an entire admissions strategy and prospective college list based on this. It's effective and, most importantly, credible.Many "best fit" guides are driven by a kind of under-handed elitism. Not so with this book. There's not an ounce of you'll-just-have-to-settle-for-your-local-community-college-because-you're-not-smart-enough-to-go-to-Princeton snobbery in this book at all. I'm skeptical of "best fit" college guides in general, because I think they patronize students and parents by attempting to get them to believe that brand and reputation mean nothing at all. This book acknowledges that there's a place for brand and reputation, but it correctly concludes that "value added" is enormously important to the undergraduate experience. If you get in and drop out, there's not much value added.I would recommend this book to prospective students just beginning to think about college (maybe 10th grade) and to the parents of those students.

Schulman ...because our grandson loves it! when we gave it to him (I only scanned through it, and not very thoroughly), he looked through it, his face lit up and he said,"This is really cool!" and he's not one to like books. He liked the way the information was laid out and what the information is. He is not one for books, but he immediately started scanning through this one. He is a sophomore in high school, and will need to make his decisions very soon and to have some information about what to do and what to expect. This book seemed to fill his need for the moment. Can't ask for more!

This Book came into existence through trial and error and my own quest to achieve my ultimate fitness goals. One question I constantly heard was “How Do I Lose Lot of Weight Quickly?” this question made me come up with the training program that can help reduce lot of weight at the same time it’s simple and very basic. What makes a simple program efficient, is in its intensity. I believe in order to get in shape one does not require fancy workout programs, nor a high end exercise equipment but consistency! That’s the key to success. It’s very important have a goal and more importantly a realistic goal followed by a very good plan. I wrote this book to help the beginners who are far more confused as to what form of training routine to follow and have all the other questions like How much, how often and how long. The workouts are going to make you shed lot of fat and weight loss is unavoidable. You are going to get strong and your endurance will be way better and most importantly you will look good and feel good. Just be committed to the diet and be consistent with the workouts and have a very positive approach towards the whole program and most importantly be Enthusiastic!

Fine illustrations with a text that is more for parents than kids By J.Prather I am a big fan of both this author and illustrator, and was eager to see their latest collaboration. Unfortunately, I felt this effort failed to capture the same charm and whimsy that is present in their previous efforts. While the sentiments portrayed here are full of love, the overall effect is more reminiscent of a greeting card than a children's book.The illustrations are truly the star in this effort and the only reason I would rate this with four stars. The kids in each two page spread are all endearing, and perfectly capture the sentiments expressed on the page. The pictures are simple and direct , effectively using white space, and conveying a surprising amount of emotion in each simply drawn face.Each two page spread conveys a wish in the format "I wish you more___than_____." All sentiments tug at the heart strings, making this a book parents will love even though it might leave young readers a bit bored and confused. A wish for give and take is pretty straightforward, but a wish for more "we than me" might leave them confused. I liked the wish for more "hugs than ughs", but felt that some others ended up feeling forced. The text doesn't flow all that well, which limits it's use as a group read aloud.This book will find it's best home being shared on a parent's lap. As an expression of parental hopes, dreams and love for a child, this is a great success. As a dynamic book to engage young story listeners, it leaves a lot to be desired. Perfect illustrations carry this to a grudging four star rating and only a cautious recommend.*This book provided by the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I have given all 7 of my now grown children a book called "I will love you for always and forever". I ordered 7 books for 7 kids and this is going to be their Christmas gift (from the heart) this year. A gift from the heart is a family tradition.I found this book at the Book Fair at the elementary school where my husband teaches. They only had one copy left. So of course I went to Amazon. The books arrived promptly. I could not be more pleased with the product as well as the service. Everyone deserves their own copy of this beautiful book.

It brings out the squishy mom in me. The soppy mom. And I think it's likely that I won't be alone in having this reaction, so I'm going to suggest you consider it as a gift for new parents.What I like about the book is that it slaps me up-side the head and reminds me that there are things I want for my children (and all children) beyond the cliche things like good friends, a good education, enough money....It reminds me that I want them to also have MORE STORIES THAN STARS, MORE GIVE THAN TAKE, and MORE WE THAN ME.~You might need to chat with little ones about some of the nuances of these 'wishes' as some of the concepts might not be crystal clear to them; but there's nothing wrong with that. This is how they learn what your family values are.I also want to say that I read this book to my teens. Sat on their beds at night and shared the book because I want them to know that their dad and I want all sorts of wonderful things for them--still..~review copy

Advice in this book won't solve the "control" issue enforced upon me by others, but it will help me deal with it in more positive ways. A good guide to keep on hand and re-read when this negativity and the anger it provokes seems to rule my life.
