31 of 31 people found the following review helpful. Excellent Cursive Handwriting Workbook By NinerFan Fortunately for us, my son's third grade teacher will be teaching cursive handwriting this year. This workbook is a great practice book. It begins with practice for each alphabet letter. The pages are regular letter sized so plenty of space to practice on. Each alphabet letter (upper and lower case) has arrows and numbered steps 1,2,3 so that the student can trace on his/her own. The large amount of space is my son's favorite aspect of the workbook. Next, there are 25 pages of tracing words, and then 25 pages of silly sentences ( like " Juggling jaguars jam to jazz"). Although it is didactic in nature, it is also a fun way to learn. My son likes it; in fact, he asked me to write this review so that other kids will know about it. I also recommend this book.

21 of 21 people found the following review helpful. Teach yourself cursive By Neem I'm sorry to say that our public school where we live do not teach cursive. I have a 7th grade granddaughter who wanted to learn cursive, so I got her this book. She has been sitting for hours since it arrived and can't tear herself away. I got this one above other items because it gave the numbered directional signals where the other ones did not. This is the system that I was taught 60 years ago. Some things just never go out of style. One of the reasons I wanted her to be able to write cursive is because I want her to be able to read it. I have purchased several different "ology" books , like dragonology, piratology, etc. These books are fun for her, but so many of the items presented are in cursive and she struggles so to read them and eventually has to ask grandma for help. I want her to be able to enjoy these on her own. I really think it's a shame that so many school systems are not teaching cursive anymore because of the new tech age. Many things will be inaccessible to this new generation on account of it.

I bough it for my son because I know that cursive writing it's no longer being taught in school and since I am now homeschooling my son I taught it would be a great addition to his curriculum. In the begging it has just the letters on its own then comes the sentences along with silly pictures that describe the sentences.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Four Stars By Danny I like these cards a lot. Good info and pictures. Used them for usmle step 1 and I think they were helpful. Most of the cards give a clinical scenario with a histological, gross or radiographic image that I found nice because review books sometimes lack quality images for everything. Surprisingly these did not take that long to go through, granted I skipped some sections but usually it took me about an hour per chapter. The information is also relevant to subjects beyond just path I found many useful biochem and micro facts in the cards as well. The only thing I did not like was that the cards had two cases and two answers on every card so u were exposed to the answers of one side before reading the case on the other.

Image and several short answer questions per case, with answers on the opposite side. Organized to go along with all books in the Robbins pathology series. More convenient than using the written review book, because you don't have to flip through pages back and forth from the questions to the answers, you just have to flip the card over. I used them as a quick change-of-pace resource while studying for the USMLE Step 1. Some of the information is more detailed than needed for that exam, but it's easy to just skim through the fluff. My only complaint is that a small percentage of the images are poor quality; it appears like the editor copy & pasted thumbnail images for these (instead of the full size image then scaling it down to fit the card), making them appear granulated & difficult to discern what is being referenced in the answer explanations. Other than that, great resource.

By JT I recommend waiting for the next version of these cards or until enough people complain about its format to get it changed. There is nothing wrong with the contents of the cards but what you'll be annoyed by is that you're exposed to answers before the questions. The way it's formatted is that on each side of the card, there are questions on the top half but on the bottom half, they also provide answers to the questions on the other side. So half of the time you're going through the cards, you will be exposed to the answers before seeing the question. It's not really an effective way to test yourself and it defeats the purpose of flash card studying. The publisher must have designed it this way to cut cost.If you do get these flash cards, take advantage of electronic version through Student Consult and the phone app, Inkling. The format is much better. You're provided questions first, and answers are revealed when you're ready. I've been studying the flash cards on my phone which is much more convenient than have to carry the cards with you.

This is a good and inexpensive book for younger students By Aide This is a good and inexpensive book for younger students, I would say preschool, kinder, and 1st grade, who have not had any exposure to the Spanish language before. About the Author

For 33 years, Steven Heller was an art director at the New York Times, originally on the OpEd Page, and for almost 30 of those years with the New York Times Book Review. Currently, he is co-chair of the MFA Designer as Author Department, Special Consultant to the President of SVA for New Programs, and writes the Visuals column for the New York Times Book Review. He was the recipient of the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum's 2011 Design Mind Award. He writes frequently for Metropolis and other design magazines, and is author, co-author, and editor of over 100 books on design and popular culture. Most phrasebooks are great for when you’re planning on traveling to a country, but THIS book has one goal and one goal only and is to learn the language whether that means traveling to the country or not. Rather than focusing on phrases to help rent a hotel room, buy a train ticket, or ask where the bathrooms are. It provides you with more than 100 key words and phrases to help you express more than 1,000 unique ideas based on general conversation topics.If your goal is to converse in Arabic language, then this really is the first book I suggest you buy – absolute winner.

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Many missing pieces to understand the basics of the language By franky This booklet lacks tools that the previous Instant booklets have. In the other books, there will be grammar notes to make you understand why a sentence or word is formed in a certain way. This booklet has zero grammar or other notes to help the reader. It does have its usual top too words and how they are used; but so what. It needs to have much more clarity and this is why you are better off using another phrase book (believe me, Arabic has many phrasebooks out there). Moreover, the Arabic script is a little too small even for my young and healthy eyes. I have Instant Indonesian and Thai and they are wonderful but this Arabic version is written as if it was not related to Tuttle or with the other excellent Instant booklets made by this company.
