I really liked how the author outlines different methods for different situations, such as name recall, number recall, and vocabulary. There are more topics covered in this book, and the method behind it is really sound. This author is great, and he seems like he doesn't plenty of research before writing. Highly recommended!" - Jim Reed, Reader "Fantastic book..exceeded expectations..while i knew some of the techniques discussed, i was surprised to find there were quite a few I didn't know about. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their memory techniques. I recently got into speed reading, and this book will be a great addition to my toolbox." - Lexi, Reader "If you're looking to improve your memory, this practical book is a great help!" - Mike, Reader This book offers you an array of innovative techniques, exercises, games, and puzzles that will help you see and understand how your memory works & how to remember names & numbers, scripts and languages even if you forgot something! Very easy read, it should work for anyone!!" - Kevin, Reader
From the Author I wrote this book because I wished that somebody would have taught me these techniques when I was back in school...In this age of recording devices we've lost our ability to remember. I first read about these long-lost techniques in Joshua Foer's Moonwalking With Einstein, and I was blown away by how effective they are. This is a short, concise guide to using memory techniques in every day life to remember pretty much any information that might be useful to you. The techniques can save a lot of time and they allow you to recall long lists and numbers that were once impossible to remember.I've also included a section about forgetfulness, and how to eliminate it. I hope you love these techniques as much as I do.

Rawlings is both a freelance writer and an entrepreneur - he runs a publishing business form his home! He offers his reasons for sharing the very valuable information and ways of thinking (and remembering!) in this book based on his own history of procrastination. Coming across the psychology of motivation and reading about workplace productivity and the traits of successful productive people changed his course. But, 'these programs say that they can help you 'get things done', but they were actually addressing organizational problems! Not motivation, or procrastination! I started making progress when I began to see the same patterns coming up, again and again, while sifting through scientific textbooks and autobiographies. Based on these, I eventually developed my own practical 'system' of productivity to get focused and motivated to get things done. It's based on learning new automatic habits, getting rid of bad habits, and identifying high value activities and focusing on them. Of course there's more to it, but don't worry. I'm going to show you everything.' And so Richard approaches the concept of approaching the widespread problem of `memory' - and how to improve it and keep it.In his own summary of the contents of this book he states, `Here's what you'll learn in Memory Breakthrough: A Simple Technique To Remember Names & Numbers, Scripts & Languages: How memory actually works (and why you can remember decades-old childhood memories but you can't remember your new phone number or the name of a person you JUST met), The REAL reason behind forgetfulness, and how to eliminate it, Why the 'photographic memory' is a myth and how memory techniques are the key to unlocking ANY normal mind, And the EXACT methods to remember Names (how to remember names of everybody you meet by making a person's face TELL you their name!), Lists (remember shopping lists, to-do lists, and facts/figures, & keep your list items in order, too), Speeches & Scripts (how to remember sales scripts & deliver speeches naturally, without notes), Facts and Figures (remember facts or figures to make your arguments more persuasive), Strong Passwords (how to create unbreakable passwords and remember them effortlessly), Appointments, Anniversaries + Birthdays (how to remember all weekly appointments and dates without the need for a calendar), Short Numbers such as telephone numbers (quickly memorize short numbers), Foreign Language and Business Vocabulary (effective Polyglot methods to remember new vocabulary, faster), A concise guide to 'Memory Palaces' and memory 'Peg' systems'. At book's end he offers the following: `Keys to eliminating forgetfulness - Systemize the things you normally forget. Attach them to things that you will always remember. Create 'anchor cues' for things you normally forget by vividly visualizing the situation in which you want to remember it, and see yourself performing the action you want to take in context on the situation. For instance, visualize yourself checking that the oven is off when you walk out the front door of your house. Force yourself to be Originally Aware of things you normally forget by picturing a ridiculous situation related to whatever you're doing. If you have to put your phone down in your bedroom, imagine your phone as human-sized under the covers and getting ready for bed. When you think of your phone, it will be easy to remember it in this context, and you'll know where it is.`That is a concise a summary as possible and the rest is up to the reader to go through these steps, learn these `tricks', manage your control over what you remember and why you haven't and how you will. It works - and nothing more need to be said about it. Try this for young people in business - but also try it for older people for whom memory failure is threatening and using these principals it is just possible to prolong the advance of senility!
